YACReader is an impressive application and I had a perfectly enjoyable time using it to read comics, aside from when it failed to work in a couple of instances with an "Error opening comic - Unknown error opening the file". YACReader is also available for iOS and syncs with the desktop program. The application comes in 32-bit and 64-bit versions, but these aren't portable. The program can also be used with the mouse, the wheel scrolls the page, while double-clicking on the screen switches to full-screen mode YACReader supports various keyboard shortcuts for opening, reading the comics. The program has a built-in dictionary that can be used to translate words. Don't have time to finish a comic? Set a bookmark and comeback to it later. The magnifying glass tool enlarges the content under the mouse cursor, and is handy when the text is too small or illegible.

The other options allow you to switch the pages, fit the window to the height/width of the page, full size, rotate the page, toggle double page mode, adjust the zoom level. Use it to open a new comic book, a folder, save the image from the current page, navigate to the previous/next comic. The Toolbar has various options, and the same can be found in the right-click menu. Or you can open it directly from the reader's browse option. Double-click on a comic book in the Library and it will be opened in YACReader. If I could give 6 stars I definitely would.Comics that have been marked as favorite, and the ones you're currently reading are listed in the pane to the bottom left corner. This guy deserves a lot of credit for building the perfect comic book reader app for comic fans. I’m going to enjoy reading comics when I’m in the sauna at the gym, at Starbucks, at the beach, etc.

This app is going to make me start reading other comic series because it’s so easy to copy and paste from one folder to another and organization is so important these days for IOS devices. Then I created a few new folders for my other Walking Dead stuff like special editions, Here’s Negan, and so on. The ability to edit and name files once they are in is great as well as leaving notes, bookmarks, etc. I just got this app and loaded my entire, The Walking Dead series on it, issues 1-188 in one folder. This app YACReader is the best $2.99 app that you will ever find, probably for any genre.

The killer feature is not in the app at all. and you prefer some cross-platform consistency, YACReader is probably your best bet. But I still wanna know what else might be available. With the mobile version you’re able to sync within your network from your library or read wirelessly and it’s as easy as scanning a QR code from within the PC application. FOMO, right? And each time I ask myself why am I wasting my time. YACReader iOS has recently been updated to 2.0.0 with a new UI and support for iPhone 6, 6+. But not because of ANY other reason than “just in case” the other guys had that one killer feature I didn’t know I needed yet. I’ve tried at least a dozen other comic book readers over the years. And honestly, even though I’m perfectly happy, from time to time, I have tried the other guys too.
